Appleton wools has been made for over 150 years and were used by Wm Morris. We only supply tapestry wool (4ply).hanks and half hanks
Each hank of tapestry wool is approximately 55 metres and weighs approximately 25 grams.
Hanks come as unnumbered twists. If you order more than one hank of a single colour these might not always be from a single dyelot.
As the true colours cannot be represented on the website you should always order by the colour number if known. Boxes of shade cards are
available but these are quite expensive and are provided on a "Special Order" basis only

**Please Note**
We cannot accept responsibility for slight variations in colour, this occurs in different dye lots and is the nature of dying wool.
